Exposed aurat

As I walked around Yellow Town and into Centrepoint today, I can't help entertaining naughty thoughts. Most of the local Muslim ladies are in headgear. But to me they look ridiculous. The whole point of wearing a headgear (hijab) is to deny non-family members the privilege of gawking at your hair. Very much like keeping your valued pearl necklace in a velvet-lined jewellery case. You just don't show off the things you treasure most to any Tom, Dick or Harry.

Yes these ladies were wearing headgear but picture this - their pony tail is longer than the headgear. As I walked past one such lady, I had an urge to pull her hair from behind! Many make do without the inner cap. When the wind blows you can see the hair. Or sometimes the headgear material is transparent and you can still see the hair.

The teenagers are notorious for another aurat offence. They have their heads covered but they're in T-shirts baring their abdomen and hands. When they squat down in their tight low-cut jeans I'm tempted to drop an ice-cube down the crevices! Astaghfirullah.....

The community is facing havoc cos you see many people doing these and it becomes acceptable. Another cause for concern is the handshake between different gender. For as long as I can remember, it's haram (forbidden). Now they say there's a difference of opinions between mazhabs and they're inclined to follow the one which permits handshake - in the name of racial harmony, tolerance. You see the VIPs offering their hands to both sexes in the media everyday. They're guilty of setting the wrong examples. They're confusing the masses, Muslims and non-Muslims.
